Laura Ryder

I am a director, theatre-maker and facilitator based in the Midlands, working across Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham and Sheffield. 

As a director & associate/assistant director, I have worked with Derby Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, Birmingham REP and Pitlochry Festival Theatre. In 2023, I was the recipient of JMK assistant director bursary at Birmingham REP. 

My work often centres around movement, access and adaptation. I’ve worked on productions for audiences of multiple ages, from playful children’s theatre to dynamic adaptations for adults.

I was a founder and Lead Artist with B Team theatre Company who specialised in creating devised theatre about the environment. 

I am an experienced facilitator working regularly with young people and learning disabled & neurodivergent adults.
